Dem boys get confused because dem always know that contract bids should go to de most reasonable tender. However, dem now find out that people does get vex when dem bid come close to de engineer’s estimate and dem ain’t get it.
De other day dem put out a tender fuh some electrical works at de Appeals Court. Is a big contract and it call fuh specialized work. De contractor got to run de wire suh that de job gun pass inspection.
De wuk got to be beat and all dem points got to be of de correct ampere because if de thing ain’t right nuff equipment gun blow up.
And dem boys ain’t forget de fire that can start because these days everything that go wrong people does blame GPL. Up to Sunday morning dem had people who claim that is GPL cause de fire that bun down five business places pun Regent Street.
Anyhow. De engineer put up an estimate fuh just about $3 million.
Dem boys know that de people at de Waterfalls paper created a stir when dem find out that some of de engineers’ estimates was really high and dem reporters suggest skullduggery.
Of course, all dem contract getting review but this time a man vex because de award was not in keeping wid de engineer’s estimate.
The man bid $3 million, which was close to de engineer’s estimate. But Cummings Electrical put in a bid for $1.8 million and win de contract. De other man get vex. He claim how de system unfair because he was close to de engineer’s bid and he ain’t get it.
He holler how de rules wrang, how de government unfair and how de Waterfalls paper cause it.
Well de government now decide to look fuh de best value and of course one man crying how that ain’t fair.
Dem boys seh is suh when de government spoil people.
