A young woman was severely beaten by four ‘boys’ who attacked her at her Green Street Werk-en-rust home on Monday.
Reports are that the woman who has been identified as 23 year-old Manda Benn was attacked just after 21:00 hours on Monday.
The woman was said to be tending to her two toddlers when she heard someone calling her by name at the gate. She looked out from her front door and two boys forced themselves into her house as two others stood at the gate.
The woman was severely beaten in her head while the two ‘boys’ relieved her of a quantity of jewelry and a small amount of cash.
Sources later said that the bandits made good their escape with the woman’s wedding band, earrings and gold chains.
One ‘boy’ then tied up the woman’s two sons with scotch tape. However they subsequently fled the home after the woman pretended to be dead.
The woman then raised an alarm and was rescued by neighbours and family members. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where she was treated. The matter has since been reported and investigations are ongoing.
