Some sizzling action is anticipated when the 12th Annual Troy Humphrey Memorial Cycling Extravaganza comes off at the Inner Circuit of the National Park on Saturday from 09:00hrs. Riders will be competing for some of the most attractive cash prizes on offer on the local circuit and looks forward to this particular event each year.
Seniors in category 1, 2, 3 and 4 will match pedals in the days feature event which will see them covering 25 laps for a top prize of $15,000. First to sixth place will all be rewarded with cash.
Juniors and juveniles will meet in a 20 lap duel, veterans under and over 50 years of age will face off in respective 5-laps races as will the upright and BMX open categories.
BMX 12-14 years and girls (racing cycles) will compete in respective 3 lap contests, BMX (9-12) two laps and BMX girls (6-12) and BMX (6-9) will do one lap each. According to the organisers, Roraima Bikers Club, they are planning for what will be an exciting day of cycling where all participants will be well catered for.
Roraima Bikers cyclists are in for a treat as the outstanding performers will receive special incentives during this event.
The Late Troy Humphrey was one of Guyana’s leading and very courageous riders at the time of his passing and his family along with the club sponsors this event annually to keep his memory alive.
