— emphasises call for int’l inquiry
In order to gain the public’s support in the continued quest to demand an international inquiry into Government’s association with self-confessed drug lord, Shaheed Roger Khan, the joint opposition political parties held a public meeting last evening.
The meeting was held at the Demico Car Park, Brickdam, Georgetown, and attracted a modest audience.
Members of the various opposition parties highlighted their convictions. Among those represented were the People’s National Congress Reform, Alliance for Change, GAP/ROAR, WPA and the National Front Alliance.
According PNCR Member of Parliament, Africo Selman, the meetings will continue at strategic locations throughout the month in order to ensure that the public is fully aware. They will also seek to spur action to highlight and challenge Government’s involvement in corruption.
The other meetings will be held on Thursday at Merriman Mall; at the Plaisance Line Top on Saturday; next week Tuesday at Cross and First Street, Alexander Village; and the following day at the Independence Boulevard and Calendar Street, Albouystown.
A meeting has also been slated for the Melanie Damishana Shopping Plaza on Saturday October 31.
