Richmond businessman, Dindyal Narine, 43, whose sports utility vehicle GLL 9085, was involved in an accident Thursday afternoon, is lucky to be alive.
Narine, the father of three, sustained cuts to his forehead, face and neck, while his brother, Chanderpaul, sustained minor injuries. Both men were immediately rushed to the Suddie Hospital where they were admitted.
According to reports the two, who were consuming alcohol at a nearby restaurant earlier in the day, at Henrietta, left that business place around 4:00 p.m. and were proceeding north at a fast rate when the driver Narine lost control of his vehicle and plunged into a nearby trench in Henrietta in front of the Medicare Pharmacy.
Both men had to be hauled out of the vehicle by public-spirited citizens who raced to the scene. Narine, who was the driver, had to be rushed to the hospital by his wife, Shalinie, who was at the time at the Anna Regina Old Market. She was alerted of the accident involving her husband by eyewitness.
The other Narine was transported by detectives of the Anna Regina Police Station. This newspaper was also informed that Narine had only purchased this vehicle three months ago. The driver was transporting food items and more than one million dollars in his vehicle at the time of the accident.
