South Turkeyen Sports Committee will be staging two Domino Competitions tomorrow and Sunday at different venues.
Starting tomorrow, the Committee will be hosting a nine-team Diwali tournament at the Guyana Legion Hall on Carifesta Avenue, starting from 18:30 hrs.
Among the teams expected to participate are: the Guyana Legion, MMC, COPS Security Service, NCN, Ministry of Education, Edward Beharry Company Ltd, Ex-GDF Association of Guyana, the Guyana Fire Service and Black Stallion Warriors of Vryheid’s Lust Housing Scheme.
Trophies are donated by Retired Brigadier Edward Collins, Ret. Colonel Carl Morgan, Lt. Col. George Gomes and Mr. Barnwell.
The competition is organised by Johnny ‘Overseas’ Barnwell. The other tournament will be staged at Central Mahaicony and the teams slated to participate will come from Mahaica, Lichfield, Mahaicony and Airy Hall.
At stake will be trophies donated by the South Turkeyen Sports Committee, while Prime Minister Samuel Hinds contributed the cash incentive. Double-six time is 12:00 hrs.
