Wanted man and prison escapee, Clarence Williams called “Wild Hog” was on Monday remanded to prison by Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo when he appeared before her at the New Amsterdam Magistrate’s Court on the charge of escaping from lawful custody. According to the prosecution case, Williams, 35, of Angoy’s Avenue, was on remand at the New Amsterdam Prison on several charges including sacrilege, robbery, possession of house breaking implements and break and enter, when he escaped.
The court was told that Williams some how dug himself out of his cell and scaled the fence.
Williams was deported from neighbouring Suriname on Saturday last and upon arrival to Guyana was promptly arrested.
The man told the court that after escaping from prison he made his way to Suriname.
While in the neighbouring country he was held with 50 grams of cocaine and was incarcerated since August.
He is scheduled to return to court on the October 19.
