GT&T to co-stage lighting of national diya

To usher in Deepavali 2009, on Thursday, at 16:00hrs, “Rashtra Jyoti”, the symbolic lighting of a national diya will be done at the Promenade Gardens, Middle Street.
The lighting of this diya, sponsored by Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T) in collaboration with the Indian Arrival Committee, the Indian Commemoration Trust and the Hindu Community will be preceded by a cultural programme.
GT&T’s collaboration and support through the sponsorship of the lighting of the diya represents another indication of the company’s continued involvement and commitment to significant national, religious and cultural events.
