Western Union’s Roger Jackman, Hewley Griffith and Lisa Lewis inflicted a 3–0 beating on the Bank of Guyana’s Imran Khan, Carlyle Bowman and Leonardo Butcher in the ‘D’ Division of the Kenneth DeAbreu Table Tennis League.
Nigel Supermarket’s Christopher Franklin and Joseph Johnson defeated NP Electronics’ Michael Vieira and Andre Lopes 3-1 in the same division of the Guyana Table Tennis Association-sanctioned event at Malteenoes on Saturday.
The ‘D’ Division of the competition caters for all Business Corporations and Government Agencies but started with only four entries on Saturday. The other groups include the ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘E’ Divisions at the Sports Club.
Team Gaza that includes, Chelsea Edghill, Jamaal Duff and Sunil Logan whipped rivals, N&D (Akiecia Nedd and Denzil Duff) 3-0 in division ‘C’ while Natalie Cummings and Remy Taitt beat Joel Alleyne and Hewley Griffith 3-1 in the ‘B’ Division.
Results in the ‘E’ Division includes: Dragon Warriors (Elishaba Johnson and Alistair Parks) defeated Eagles (Raymond Seebarran, Gerard Budhan and Shannan Ganga) 3-0; Turbo TT (Brandon Gomes and Sachin Panday) beat Golden Girls (Olivia Weeks, Anna Joao and Jamaali Homer) 3-0; Top Spin (Carl Handy and Zane Rogers) defeated KRS (Kyle Edghill, Rajiv Muneshwer and Stefan Corlette) 3-1 in the group designed for all the immediate players.
The tournament continues on Saturday at the Malteenoes Sports Club from 10am.
