Derrick Parry spell still the most economical in Regional One Day cricket

Guyana again will host the Regional Limited Overs Cricket Championship starting October 28.
During last year’s tournament in the preliminary round between the Windward Islands and the Leewards at Uitvlugt Community Centre Ground, Stabroek News Reporter (Ravendra Kishore) match story reported that Grenadian and Windward Islands spinner Dennis George spell of 10 overs 4 maidens, 7 runs whilst capturing 3 wickets had equalled Trinidadian Harold Joseph 1981 record against Barbados in the then Geddes Grant Harrison line finals.
Joseph’s figures were 10 overs, 5 maidens, 7 runs and 3 wickets.
However, the records show that the best figures from 10 completed overs in Regional One Day Cricket was performed by Nevisian Leeward Islands Off Spinner Derrick Parry.
Parry mesmerized Barbados during the 1982 Geddes Grant Harrison line final at the Antigua Recreation Ground in St. John’s to finish with the remarkable figures 10 overs, 6 maidens 5 runs and 4 wickets.
