Dem boys laugh till dem cry because dem see a letter that somebody in de GRA write to de Waterfalls newspaper. Was a simple letter. In fact, dem boys seh that it too simple.
Guess wha de letter asking. It asking everybody at de waterfalls paper to disclose all dem assets, both locally and overseas.
Some of dem boys never leave de country and dem ain’t even got family that dem know overseas. But de GRA seh that dem must have assets overseas, even if is a girlfriend.
Yesterday, dem had big confusion in de GRA head office. De boss man fuh de Waterfalls paper write how he own de White House, de Pentagon, Buckingham Palace, and up until 2001 he did own de World trade Centre.
Imagine de GRA Boss man now calculate how much this man owe Guyana. Dem ain’t know why people got to pay tax overseas and locally. De people who buy a house fuh $60 million hear how dem ain’t got to pay nutten in Guyana if somebody overseas pay taxes pun de money.
Is eye pass. That is wha dem boys seh.
And Robert, of Agriculture fame, acting as Finance Minister. Well dem boys seh that since Ashni fly out de man deh at de Ministry trying fuh sign cheques. But Ashni is de Permanent Secretary who signing dem.
Anyhow, dem boys seh that Robert sitting down in Ashni office.
Talk half. Lef half.
