Mark Lachish, 50, of 6 Norton Street, Werk-en-Rust, and father of three was remanded, yesterday after appearing before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson to answer charges for possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
It is alleged on October 2, at Vendors’ Arcade the accused, who is a RKs Security Guard attempted to sell one gram of cannabis to a sergeant of the Guyana Police Force.
It is also alleged that on the same day at the Vendors’ Arcade the accused was found in possession of 43g of cannabis for purpose of trafficking.
Prosecutor Kevin London said, “ The Police set up a ‘sting’ operation on October 2 at the Vendors’ Arcade where an undercover officer purchased one gram of marijuana from the accused who was standing near to a stall”.
He added, “A search was conducted on the accused and the nearby stall and the 43g of cannabis was found”.
The magistrate remanded him. He is expected to return to court on October 20.
