Two teenagers are in police custody after two stalls in the Bourda Market were broken into early yesterday morning.
According to sources, the teens who were said to be 16 and 18 years old were apprehended by members of the City Constabulary.
Kaieteur News understands that a rank who was on patrol duty saw the two teenagers in the market compound and quickly alerted his colleagues.
The teens were caught with a number of items from the two stalls neatly packed into two haversacks.
Yesterday when Kaieteur News visited the market a number of stall holders were in high praise for the arrests.
“We are glad that the constabulary actually caught persons in the act,” one stallholder told this newspaper.
Kaieteur News was however unable to interview Jeeboo’s Patent Shop, one of the locations broken into.
The police were up to press time trying to locate the other stall owner, who according to other stallholders, had not opened his stall for two weeks.
