Dear Editor,
Good things indeed comes to those who wait and I am on cloud nine with Rio De Janeiro being awarded the host city for the 2016 Olympic and Paraolympic Games. It’s basically a drive over the Takutu Bridge.
In neighbourhood friendship, warmest congrats are extended to the Brasilian Ambassador and the people of Brasil for this amazing achievement and it is one that represents the entire continent of South America, which Guyana is very much part of and which I am very proud of.
This being the very first time that the Olympic Games will be held in the tropics, I also believe that it should work in favour of the athletic ambassadors of Guyana. So, get going with the first gear preparations.
Oprah, The Obamas (Chicago), Tokyo and Madrid, eat your hearts out. This is South America’s calling to the world to shine.
