Dorado takes top spot ahead of Dolphin, Silver Shark and Orca

Dorado Speed Swim Club emerged as the best among four other clubs at the 2009 Guyana Amateur Swimming Association Inter Club Distance Meet which concluded on Sunday last following three days of intense competition.
Dorado ended the event with 380 points, well ahead of their nearest rival Dolphin Speed Swim Club on 186. Silver Shark Aquatic Club took the third position with 156 and bringing up the rear was Orca Speed Swim Club on 125.
While taking top spot again in the Women team rankings with 235 points to Silver Shark’s 58, Orca’s 46 and Dolphin’s 6; Dolphin took the top spot among the Men rankings with 180 points followed by Dorado (145), Silver Shark (98) and Orca with 79.
Inserting their names in the record books during the competition were Britany van Lange, Travis Henry, Henk Lowe, Athena Gaskin, Sheik Amir, Noelle Smith, Niall Roberts, Soroya Simmons, Darcy Chambers and Athena Foo.
