Social activist Mark Benschop presented another donation to some of the less fortunate citizens of Greater Georgetown. This time the beneficiaries were residents of Roxanne Burnham Gardens.
On Saturday, the Benschop Foundation donated a quantity of items of clothing, including shoes; books and other articles to the Truth for the End Time Church, of Roxanne Burnham Gardens, which will be distributed to some of the needy in the community.
The items were received by Elder Sean Roach and the presentation was done by Miss Onika Greene, daughter of Police Commissioner Henry Greene.
“We appreciate this gift from the Mark Benschop Foundation and we would like to say how much we cherish what the foundation is doing for us in this community,” Roach said.
He said that the church had decided that there was a need to do something for the community in celebration of its second anniversary. To this end, they solicited the assistance of the Benschop Foundation, which they had heard about for some time.
Miss Greene said that she was honoured to make the presentation on behalf of the foundation, since she is convinced that it has been a driving force behind the empowerment of the young people of today.
“I admire the fact that Mark Benschop is doing this kind of work so that the children of today can benefit,” Miss Greene told Kaieteur News.
