Race Walkers from all over the country will match steps today when the Cavaliers Sports and Tour Club stages it’s annual Agriculture Month 10K Race Walk around the National Park, commencing at 06:30 hrs.
National Race Walk Champion, Rudolph Mitchell continues his triumphant journey and would be looking to improve his unbeaten streak to 103 local consecutive titles. He would, however, have to be wary of Johnathan Fagundes, his most ardent rival of late. Walkers from all over the country are expected to participate in the event.
The organizers intimated that P & P Insurance Brokers has already donated several trophies but they are still in dire need of added support. The first three finishers in the Male and Female seniors category, Veterans, Male and Female Juniors, Boys and Girls as well as the differently able (men and women) will receive prizes.
Interested participants must be at the starting line for at 06:00 hrs sharp.
Meanwhile, the CSTC is finalizing arrangements to facilitate a six- man team to Barbados during December to participate in a Race Walk event in that country.
