Dear Editor,
No more silence. We need help.
Given the impact that the ABC countires (America, Britain and Canada) have on our nation, I sincerely believe that definitive action on their part – namely revocation and refusal of visas – should be taken against all the shady characters that are running amok here.
If the embassies share information received and act en bloc (though this is unlikely) the mesaage will be clear that “enough is enough”.
It is pellucid that many high-ranking officials and young non-working multi-millionaires, have been given a free ride with respect to financial impropriety (contracts, tendering processes) inexplicable wealth and murdering innocents, etc., and the message must be sent, loud and clear from the ABCs that these barefaced thieves/liars/murderers are not welcome in the places where their ill-gotten gains are then “staightened up” with the purchase of prime real estate and other assets, and the education of their family members at the top educational institutions in the world.
My annoyance is even greater when I think of the fact that none of the country’s drug lords have been arrested here, mainly because of the widespread corruption and high-level hanky panky that exists.
The ultimate scapegoat Roger Khan has taken a plea bargain, and from recent reports, it is obvious that he has spilled all the beans. Since many of those whose names have been called (including law enforcement officials) will know themselves (or would have been warned) and will avoid the US at all costs, the Americans should share their info with the British, Canadians, Europeans, Trindadians, Barbadians and other alluring destinations, to take full effect on those who believe they have escaped the net.
Guyana has lost the respect of the international community, the ABCs need not wait for this country’s officialdom to act any more, it is toothless….there will be no action.
Start sending serious messages ABCs, these nefarious people are stocking up to head your way!
Anita Ferguson
