Cleveland Conway, 28, of 2103 Layou Street, North Ruimveldt was placed on $78,000 bail yesterday when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson for purchasing stolen property.
It is alleged that on March 29, in Georgetown, the accused, who is a taxi driver, received from Raymond Beckles who is incarcerated for others charges, three radio handsets known to be stolen property of Fazal Alli, the owner of Wings Taxi Service.
It is also alleged that the radio handsets were stolen the same day by Raymond Beckles.
According to police prosecutor Kevin London the radio handsets were however recovered and are in the possession of the police.
Conway is expected to return to court on October 14.
