Jagdeo Holass, 47, called Deo, from Cromarty, Corentyne, Berbice, who lives with his wife Drupatie and their two children, is asking for public assistance to help him with therapy for the cancerous growth that has been beneath his ear for three months.
According to Jagdeo this growth came out as a small boil under his ear and grew rapidly.
He then went to the Georgetown Public Hospital and was told that they were not willing to undertake the surgery.
The man spent $1.2 million to have the surgery done at Prasad Hospital. The growth returned however. He was told by a doctor that it would eventually grow bigger than his head,
He said that he is always in tremendous pain and hardly sleeps.
He said that he was also involved in a vehicle accident at the age of nine and sustained a shattered left arm. This has left him with a handicap.
Drupatie Holass said they have been married for 25 years now and she works with her husband in a small garden from which they sell their produce. She also does domestic work.
Together the family is seeking $856,000.
