GT&T’s Public Relations Officer Allison Parker (right) hands over the sponsorship cheque to GBH’s Assistant Secretary / Treasurer Tricia Fiedtkou yesterday.
Indoor hockey returns to the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall when the GT&T-sponsored event commences on October 19 involving all the top teams in the country.
With an association that has spanned over eight years, GT&T Public Relations Officer Allison Parker yesterday handed over the sponsorship cheque to Assistant Secretary /Treasurer of the Guyana Hockey Board Tricia Fiedtkou during a simple ceremony which was conducted in the canteen of the Telecommunications Company.
Speaking on behalf of the sponsor, Parker said that the partnership between the two bodies started even before she became attached with the Organisation, a testimony to the Company’s support to the sport.
“The GHB is one of the better organised sports fraternities in the country and we are pleased to once again be on board and assist in the further development of the sport,” Parker mentioned.
Fiedtkou responding on behalf of the GHB thanked GT&T for its continued support, adding that the tournament is a key one since it comes just before the Diamond Mineral Water International Indoor Competition so it provides all the local teams with adequate preparation to compete against the visiting foreign teams.
Meanwhile, the top three teams will take home monetary incentives along with trophies, while outstanding individual performances will also receive prizes.
