Buxton denied Super League ascendancy
Victoria Kings denied Buxton United any form of ascendancy in the point standing of the Guyana Football Federation and FIFA Super League Football tournament when the “Win in CONCACAF with CONCACAF” event continued.
Second half goals from Buxton’s Eson Hamer in the 78th minute and Victoria Kings Orin Elias in the 81st minute levelled the scores 1-1 and ensured a stalemate in the game which was played at the Plaisance Community Centre Ground.
The draw kept Buxton at the bottom of the table in the ten-team competition while Kings were ranked seventh in the latest point standing. The game was a highly defensive contest that witnessed blank scorecards at the halftime break.
Buxton came out and dominated ball possession before they got due reward when Orson Washington flew down the left side and crossed to Hamer, who made no mistake to finish a relatively easy chance to put his team up 1-0.
The defensive battle aggressively continued before Elias equalised three minutes after the first goal in the game.
Both teams hustled for advantages but were both denied before the final whistle was blown to call off the encounter.
