Everest face winners of today’s game in Demerara final

Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) beat GNIC on Saturday, while Everest beat Enterprise yesterday in the latest round of action in the Demerara zone of the Neal & Massy National 50-overs first division cricket competition.
MSC and DCC will now clash today at Everest with the winner meeting Everest in the Demerara zone final.
Yesterday Everest remained unbeaten in zone ‘A’ by getting past East Side Enterprise by 6 wickets at Everest to top their zone.
National player Zaheer Mohamed top scored with 28 and got support from Mahendra Balkisson (21) as Enterprise made 122-8 off their allotted 25 overs in the rain affected game.
Former West Indies under-15 leg-spinner Amir Khan picked up 4-21 from his 5 overs and got support from Demerara leg-spinner Troy Gonsalves (1-22 from 5) and Demerara pacer Leon Scott (1-28 from 5) for Everest who reached 123-4 in 24.1 overs.
It was another Enterprise Villager, ex-West Indies under-19 batsman Rajendra Chandrika who led Everest to victory with a confident unbeaten 55 with 2 sixes. Former West Indies Test opener Ryan Ramdass supported with 25 while Demerara wicket Keeper Joseph Perry made 15 not out for Everest.
Mohamed took 2-26 from 5 overs of off-spin while Rohan Mangal had 2-17 from 4.1 overs in a losing effort for Enterprise.
And at the MSC ground on Saturday, the host beat GNIC by 35 runs in a low scoring game.
National opener Shemroy Barrington top scored with 56 but only Steven Jacobs (14) and Orin Forde (13) of the other batsmen got into double figures as MSC were bowled out for 166 in 29.4 overs.
Rawle Muriel, Ranole Bourne and Ken Alphonso took 2 wickets each for GNIC who were bundled out for 81 in 25.3 overs as Jacobs took 4-23 and got support from Deon Ferrier (3-13) and Forde (2-10).
National under-17 opener Quincy Ovid-Richardson made 27 for GNIC in a losing cause.
