… said to have supplied a now convicted trafficker
Quacy Allen, 29, yesterday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson charged with trafficking in narcotics.
It is alleged that on July 23, last, Allen had supplied some 2.9 kilos of cocaine to Shellon Sancho.
Attorney-at-Law Glenn Hanoman representing Allen, made applications for a speedy trial date.
According to reports Allen had given the cocaine to Sancho, who was stopped at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport en route to Barbados.
The young woman was subjected to a search at the CJIA, where in one of her two suitcases, a blue package was found; it was stuffed with cocaine.
Sancho was sentenced to four years in prison for the possession charges on July 28, last, and was also fined $2.7 million for the same offence by Magistrate Hazel Octave-Hamilton.
Quacy Allen was remanded and is scheduled to return to court September 28 at the Vreed-en-Hoop Magistrate’s Court.
