Dear Editor,
Being a staff of the judicial system for a number of years, I would like to raise a few issues.
It is appalling that after over four years employees are still temporary, with no hope of becoming permanent in sight.
Secondly, I believe that everyone deserves a fair chance to education. Although many requests were made by members of staff to pursue studies at the University Of Guyana, no response was ever given.
Please note that pursuing these studies would in no way hinder the efficient output of these offices.
After serving the judicial system for a number of years, I believe that staff members should at least be afforded the opportunity to develop themselves academically and receive benefits that others serving in the same capacity are enjoying.
I’m pleading with the relevant authorities to make a change for the better.
