Two brazen bandits on Sunday held up an Inspector and a Corporal of police along with a female vendor at gunpoint and relieved them of articles in the crowded Plaisance Market.
It was around 13:00 hours and Bibi Bacchus, of Ogle Front, East Coast Demerara was tending to her stall, when the Police Inspector and Corporal approached her to make a purchase.
The suspects confronted them with a gun and proceeded to rob them.
Bacchus was robbed of $200,000, jewellery and $10,000 worth of phone cards, while the Inspector and Corporal were robbed of two rings and a cellular phone respectively.
The bandits then fled the market and escaped.
