Police are probing the death of Jainarine Singh of Section K Campbellville, a security guard at CJ’s Hotel on Regent Street whose body was discovered near his place of work yesterday morning.
According to a source, Singh’s body was discovered around 7:00 hrs in an alleyway close to the building.
The source claimed the hotel caretaker, Neighdyal Shriram, found the man in a pool of blood, bleeding through his mouth and nose.
Earlier, Shriram became concerned after he came downstairs to see out a guest and did not see Singh.
He proceeded to the side of the building, knowing that Singh would sometimes sit on a bench in the alleyway. It was then that he made the discovery.
This newspaper was told that the owner of the building is on vacation abroad. In the alleyway blood was visible on a table and on the ground where the man laid. A source told this newspaper the man’s body was there for more than an hour before the police arrived on the scene.
The source said the police examined the body and reportedly found nothing suspicious. It is believed that the man may have died from High Blood Pressure.
A man at the scene said it was not unusual for someone to bleed when they die from such a condition but the large amount of blood that was at the scene was very unusual. The police are questioning staff and guests of the hotel.
