Agents from the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit (CANU) have arrested four suspects following the discovery of 7.5 Kilograms of cocaine in a shipment of spices destined for Canada.
The bust was made last Thursday when CANU officers intercepted a shipment of casreep, pepper sauce and Chinese sauce on its way to Canada via Amerijet, through the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Home Affairs, one of the four suspects in custody was held previously by CANU in connection with a shipment of cocaine to Canada during December last year.
Investigations are in continuing.
