Several teams register wins as GFA/Chubby U-13 football continues

The crowd support was poor but that did not deter the young footballers who are currently battling for honours in the Georgetown Football Association (GFA) Chubby U-13 football tournament at the Tucville Ground yesterday.
The youngsters of the various clubs turned in masterful displays that auger well for the future of the sport. In the first game of the day the Georgetown Football Club (GFC), led by a double in the 15th and 36th minutes off the boot of Shamar Barrow, and a similar brace by Roger Alleyne in the 40th and 58th minutes, humiliated Pele 7-0 in the first match of the day. They found support in Jamal James (1st) and Colin Hinds (64).
Fruta Conquerors, enjoying the home advantage, meted out a 4-0 drubbing to Alpha United.   R. Fraser netted a double in the 16 and 37th minutes with support from J. Pollard (78) and D. Johnson (85).
Also on the same day, Sunburst Camptown got the better of Thomas United 2-1 on the back of a 15th minute effort by Martin Bethel and a 50th minute success from Kevin Andrews which gave them the go ahead.
Kareem Joseph had levelled the scores at one point with his 20th minute effort.
Flamingo then dished out a 3-0 drubbing to Renaissance. The successful scorers are Orlando Ricketts who netted in the 45th and 58th minutes with support from Sheldon Fletcher in the 31st.
Santos then won from Riddim Squad, 3-1. Santos’ scorers were Selah Roberts (17), Jerome Liddell (19th) and Selah Rogers (56). Omali Henry saved some face for Riddim Squad after netting in the 28th minute.
The competition continues next Saturday with several other interesting games at the Tucville ground.
