– fans could expect more improvement
Head Coach of the Rosignol United Football Club Keith O’ Jeer in an interview shortly after his team’s 2-0 triumph over Buxton United last Sunday said that the whole atmosphere in the camp is good and the team is working with synchronicity.
“Just before the start of the tournament, we were in a bit of confusion because the rules and regulations governing the tournament were a bit unclear,” O’Jeer said.
He said the current success that the club has been experiencing in the National League is due to the fact that everyone has been attending practice sessions which have made a positive impact on the team’s performance.
O’Jeer added that the team is currently playing at 50-60% of its ability and cautioned opponents that they still have a lot more to give.
“We are still not totally satisfied with our performance, players are still jostling for positions and when we get it right no one could tell how far we can go.”
The Coach pointed out that it was only a few weeks ago that they drew with Top XX in a friendly fixture and in that game they played without a few of their stars.
“We play Top XX in our next game and I’m confident that we could maintain our streak,” O’Jeer expressed.
According to O’Jeer, the support that the team has been receiving from clubs in the West Berbice area is phenomenal and extended his thanks to everyone for their support. “This support has been the secret for our success so far,” he said.
Commenting on the much publicised comments on the team’s selection to play in the League ahead of New Amsterdam United, O’Jeer referred to it as unfortunate, citing the non attendance of the Head Coach at Association Meetings as perhaps responsible for their situation.
“I find his comment a bit surprising, but everyone is entitled to his or her opinion and there is absolutely no animosity between the two clubs and it is just a case of us having our different views.”
