Watooka/Richmond Hill/Fairs Rust (WRHFR) beat Blue Beharry Hill 1-nill while Christianburg got past Wisroc by a similar margin on Thursday night at the McKenzie Sports Club (MSC) ground in Linden to book semi-final spots in the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Inter Block football competition in Region 10.
Watched by a small crowd on a chilly night, Fabian Davidson beat Goalkeeper Nolan Nedd in the 70th minute with a free kick for the winning goal in the opening match.
After being deadlock nil-all at half time, WRHFR prevailed despite playing with one man short as Nedd lost his grip on the ball as Davidson’s shot from 20 yards out found the back of the net for the game’s lone goal.
In the 2nd game of the double header, Christianburg went ahead in the 60th minute when Alistair Johnson beat the off-side trap set by Wisroc and eluded advancing Custodian Compton Burnette, to put his team into the ‘final four’.
Wednesday’s semi-finals will see WRHFR taking on Christianburg from 18:00hrs and Amelia’s Ward battling Valley/Poker Street.
