Shondell ‘Mystery Lady’ Alfred is leaving nothing to chance as she steps up preparations for what is undoubtedly the sternest test of her relatively short professional boxing career. In support of her intensified efforts, promoters Carwyn Holland and Stanford Solomon have also intensified efforts to accrue adequate corporate assistance to offset the huge expenses of the card.
Already several business enterprises have either signaled an intention to, or have already donated varying sums towards the success of the card.
Yesterday morning DeSinco Trading Est. of John and Sheriff Streets, Campbellville threw their corporate weight behind the card and presented a check valued some $50,000 towards its success.
Human Resources Manager of DeSinco Trading, Nathely Mars made the presentation to Holland even as she acknowledged her entity’s adherence to their corporate responsibility. Ms Mars said, “My entity has proven its corporate responsibility towards youth development nationwide through our active and influential roles in several sporting activities.” Ms Mars also reminded media operatives of her company’s involvement and support of other disciplines like table-tennis, track and field and golf among others. “We are honoured to play a part in inspiring our young generation positively by encouraging them to become involved in sports activities,” she concluded.
Meanwhile, Mr. Abdool voiced his appreciation even as he pointed out that DeSinco has always rendered support. “We are very happy to have received such support and we hope it continues,” Abdool said.
The card would be staged at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall (CASH) on Sept. 26 and the main bout features Corinne “Sexy Panther” DeGroot against Shondell “Mystery Lady” Alfred for the WIBA Bantamweight Title. Leon “Hurry Up” Moore faces Mauricio Pastrana for the NABA, WBA Fedelatin, WBA Fedecaribe, WBC Cabofe and the WBC Inter-Continental Titles.
Also on the card is Howard “The Battersea Bomber” Eastman against Kevin “The Fighting Policeman” Placide while Iwan “Pure Gold” Azore takes on Wayne Briggs. Mitchell Rogers tackles Dexter Collins and Dexter Marques looks to redeem himself in a bantamweight fight against Hewley Robinson. Paul Lewis Jnr and Shawn Pile start the proceedings with a 4 round bantamweight contest. Bell time is 20:00hrs.
