Dear Editor,
Thank you for your excellent articles on the expulsion of Mormon missionaries in Guyana. I commend those in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the CID, and the office of the President for enforcing the immigration laws of Guyana.
The Mormons are backed by unlimited wealth and resources from their “home base” in the US, and use that to propagate a false religion/cult in this country. No matter that it is disguised by “humanitarian efforts”, which if examined closely would reveal that it is a ploy to “buy converts”. It would be interesting to know whether this wealthy religious group has paid its income taxes (required of foreign workers in this country) or if that has also been “swept under the rug” along with the required work permits.
President Jagdeo was not acting above the law when he required them to leave.
He is being gracious and is upholding the immigration laws of this country.
This should be a clarion call to all illegal foreigners, both here and abroad.
