Cops teach UG students a lesson
Clyde Hoyte captured 9 wickets including 6-64 to help Transport Sports Club
(TSC) to a 25-run victory against Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) at the GNIC ground in latest action in the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) Raymond Panday & Cummings Electrical 2-day 2nd division cricket competition over the weekend.
Former Guyana Under-15 left-arm spinner Denis Legay was again in ripping form and followed up his 11-wicket match haul against GYO in the previous round with 6-44 as TSC fell for 149 after electing to bat first on the tiny ground.
Kevin Gittens (45), Seon Sampson (35) and Amir Azeez (23) were the main run scorers for TSC as Guyana Under-15 Skipper Shaquel Williams supported Legay with 2-24.
MSC who made over 400 runs in their last game, catapulted to 61 all out in reply as only Williams (18) reached double figures.
Hoyte took 3-11 while Imitiaz Pooran took 4-13 and Shawn Massiah had 2-12 for TSC who were dismissed for 136 in their 2nd innings.

MSC were bowled out for 200 in their 2nd innings despite 49 from Vishal Narayan as Hoyte bowled his team to victory with 6-54 and received back-up from Massiah who had 3-42.
At the University of Guyana ground, Pacer Dexter Southwell grabbed 5-15 and Fitzroy Culley produced a useful all-round performance as Police hammered the by nine wickets.
Culley top scored with 43 while Troy Benn (41) and Orin Heyliger (39) chipped in with the bat as the Cops made 182.
Alex Duncan and Skipper Dhaniram Seepersaud captured 4 wickets each for UG who were bundled out for 46 in their first innings.
Latchman Persaud (3-9) and 16-year-old Parnell London (2-14) supported Southwell with the ball for Police who enforced the follow on and dismissed UG for 136 in their second innings.
Dwayne Dodson, who was the only batsman to reach double figures in the first innings with 13, was again the top scorer with 52. However, only Ronald McDonald (25) of the other batsmen offered resistance as Culley took 4-36 ands London 3-23.
