The 33rd Annual Teach them Young 8-week cycling clinic hosted by the National Sports Commission and conducted by National Cycling Coach Hassan Mohamed will end today with an 11-race meet at the National Park.
According to Mohamed, this year’s clinic was a success and cycling has been made stronger at the grass roots level following the programme. He pointed out that a number of senior cyclists also lent their expertise during the duration of the clinic.
“I think we had a good time this year and I am pleased with the turn out of 34 riders including many first timers. The sport can only get stronger from this point and I want to encourage the young ones to remain focused and disciplined.”
Today’s event will be the third of its kind during the clinic, Ansa McAl Trading (1) and the National Sports Commission (2) being the sponsors.
Today’s feature will be for school boys and novices over 35 laps. Upright, BMX and veteran riders will also be catered for, competition will get going at 09:00hrs. Director of Sport Neil Kumar will be on hand to assist with the presentation of prizes.
