The 6th annual Mackeson sponsored English/Kashif & Shanghai knock-out Futsal competition which is set to kick off tomorrow evening, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall yesterday received a financial boost from city businesses, Giftland Office Max and German’s Restaurant.
Both entities expressed their delight at being a part of the tournament which is designed to bolster the further development of the indoor version of the game in Guyana.
CEO of Giftland Office Max, Ian Ramdeo said his company was very proud to once again be a part of the tournament this year which marks the second year they are on board.
“As we all know, Giftland is proud to be a part of sports and entertainment in Guyana and with this sponsorship; we continue to maintain that commitment.
We look forward to continued collaboration with the organisers in anyway we can to promote the development of sports.”
General Manager of German’s Restaurant Clinton Urling also disclosed that this was their second year with the tournament, while noting that their philosophy is giving back to the society in which they operate.
“We are inter-connected and this year we have been very active in terms of contributing to sports in Guyana.”
Frank ‘English’ Parris in responding thanked both entities for their continued commitment towards the tournament and by extension, the growth of the sport in Guyana.
Parris also made a call for other corporate entities to come on board to support the tournament assuring that this year’s competition will be very exciting since it will be contested on a straight knock-out format.
