Yesterday more than 20 route 47 minibus operators took strike action to protest the detention of several of their colleagues by police ranks. However, of more concern to them was the fact that they are being advised to use the route stipulated by their road service licences or suffer the consequences.
They say their action of not picking up passengers, including schoolchildren, will continue until someone in authority sees it fit to grant them permission to use the route that they are accustomed to as this route helps schoolchildren and business officials to be dropped closer to their destination.
