Guyana and Headquarters successfully defended their respective titles yesterday when the Guyana Police Force 55th Annual Track and Field Championships ended at the Police Sport Club ground, Eve Leary in an emphatic manner.
Headquarters amassed 470 points while ‘A’ Division finished with the second score, 313 points in the Divisional competition while ‘B’ Division was third on 262 points with the Country Division fourth on 130 points in that category.
Guyana repeated its feat in the international competition when it smashed Trinidad and Tobago with 415 points compared to 111. Barbados was third with 88 points in that version of the competition yesterday.
Leota Bobb and Trevor Scotland were adjudged male and female champion athletes after the meet. The two athletes were congratulated by senior police officer and manager of the Headquarters unit, Gavin Primo following the event.
