Dear Editor,
I read your news article on the GPL prepaid issue. First, let me say you were fair and balance and of course first in bringing us the news.
Like most Guyanese I looked at all the news cast and I wonder where we are going. I am a resident of North Ruimveldt and I attended the meeting on prepaid meters at the Nazarene Church. It was heated, but superbly conducted by the PRO Ms. Adams and Assistant Ms. Sears, the same way she so eloquently and professionally handled the protesters. We all came away with a clear understanding of the system, but was still apprehensive because we know GPL.
It is clear from what we are seeing that GPL is still proceeding with its horrible, shameless, customer relations. As a utility service no other can match GPL for bad service. That is why people are protesting.
Imagine of the few people on the system it takes hours to buy power. GPL wants to implement a system that it is not ready for. A word of advice to PRO – ladies run away from the mess they call GPL, one of your own lost his life doing his job, you did not create the mess, no one will blame you. GPL needs to get its act together.
