Matches set for Mahaicony & Skeldon grounds
Competition in the Berbice Football Association Banks DIH Coca Cola sponsored senior league is set to resume on Sunday with four matches, double headers at the Mahaicony CDC and Skeldon Community Centre grounds.
From 14:00hrs at the Mahaicony ground, former champions Monedderlust, spearheaded by Anthio Wallace and the goal hungry Gladwin Johnson (7 goals) clash with the skilled Cougars who currently lie joint second in the standings with Real Union.
Cougars will be led by Horace Roache, Kirth Bristol and custodian Ryan Kellowan in what is being dubbed, the battle of the arch rivals.
Two hours later, Real Union featuring the Fraser brothers, Delroy and Delwin will square off against Mahaicony United whose quest for victory will centre on Sherwin Caesar, national Under-15 Sherwin Lewis and Newt Mahaica in goal.
Over at the Skeldon CDC ground, leaders, the unbeaten New Amsterdam United will take on Strike Force United as they seek to maintain their unbeaten record with another positive result.
The league’s leading goal scorer Adrian ‘Garnett’ Adams (9 goals) will carry the charge for New Amsterdam.
