Alleyne’s double propels them to 4-0 win over Camptown
Fruta Conquerors continues their excellent vein of form at the junior level when they brushed aside arch rivals Sunburst Camptown 4-0 to win the inaugural Trix Under-17 football tournament on Saturday evening at the Tucville ground.
Representative of Bryden’s and Fernandes Kelvin Simon (White Shirt) handing over the winners trophy to Eon Alleyne of Fruta Conquerors. Happy teammates share the moment.
The home team looked the better unit on the night as they controlled play against the visitors who played very ordinary football.
The intentions of the home team were conveyed to Camptown very early in the match when Keith Fletcher banged in the first goal in just the 3rd minute of the encounter.
Cheered on by their small band of supporters, Conquerors continued to dominate proceedings. Eon Alleyne tucked in the first of his double in the 32nd minute with the second coming six minutes to regulation time.
At the break the score was 2-0 and that was quickly taken to 3-0 one minute into the second half with a vicious left foot shot from 30 yards out by Travis Savory that sailed over the outstretched hands of the Camptown custodian.
The third place game was not played and will be fixed for a later date to be announced shortly. (Franklin Wilson)
