After that Virvasha Ramdharry and Vishwanauth Lallbeharry put them in command by putting on 89 runs for the 2nd wicket in 17 overs before Lallbeharry was bowled by offspinner Steffon Adams for 23, Vikings well on top at 110 for 2 in 22.5 overs needing just 45 runs in 17.1 overs with 8 wickets standing.
However, Hopetown fought back and with their medium pacer Carwyn Wayne soon having Ramdharry caught for 54 and two others also caught very quickly after, No. 69 Vikings slumped to 120 for 5 in the 26th over.
From there they further slipped to 138 for 7 and 146 for 9 still needing 9 runs from 3.4 overs. The last pair of Narendra Gopaul and Yogesh Prahala could however add only two more runs before Gopaul was run out for 2 leaving Persaud on 2 not out.
