Guyana finished third overall with 1 gold and 6 bronze medals behind Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic at the Caribbean Pre-Cadet Table Tennis Championships which was played in Barbados.
Guyana under 10 boys of Elishaba Johnson, Kyle Edghill and Rajiv Muneshwar won the gold medal with Muneshwar, who played third in the team, picking up all of his games. They played unbeaten in the round robin play off, recording wins over the number one and two seeds Puerto Rico 3-1 and Trinidad and Tobago 3-2 respectively and the Dominican Republic 3-2.
Mixed, Girls and Boys Doubles
The pair of Priscilla Greaves and Elishaba Johnson gained a bronze medal after losing to the Dominican Republic pair of Andres Betances / Kircia Diaz in the semi finals 1-3. Later in the Boys Doubles Elishaba Johnson teamed up with Kyle Edghill and they lost in the semi final to another Dominican Republic Andres Betances / Oliver Nunez 1-3, while in the 13 years and under girls doubles Chelsea Edghill and Akeila Wiltshire went down to a Puerto Rican combination 1-3.
Singles
Johnson, Kyle Edghill and Priscilla Greaves had to settle for bronze medals losing in their respective semi final engagements.
Johnson lost to the Puerto Rico player Sebastian Echevarria who went on to win the final, while Kyle Edghill was beaten by Dominican Republic’s Andres Betances and Greaves was eliminated by Puerto Rico’s Adrianna Diaz, who grabbed the gold medal
All the other players reached the last 16 in the Singles categories.
The Guyana team will arrive in Georgetown this morning.

10 years and under girls- 4th
13 years and under girls- 4th
13 years and under boys- 6th
