Dear Editor,
It amazed me when I read that a group of picketers were protesting outside of Mr. Ramjattan’s office over some false alleged duty-free concession.
Out of all the corruption and scams being discovered, persons killed by the phantom squad, the Roger Khan spy equipment and drug dealing, which the government of Guyana is being linked to, the poor conditions that people are forced to live in, CLICO, VAT etc.
These picketers found some alleged duty-free concession to be the number one issue to protest. Are they serious? Any right thinking person would see that Mr. Ramjattan is being targeted.
Will we see the same picketers outside of the Office of the President asking for an investigation now that Khan’s attorney Simels has been found guilty, will they join the AFC and others to picket for the immediate passing of the Freedom of Information Bill, will they picket for better living conditions in Guyana, will they picket against crime and corruption? I don’t think so.
