Woman in Regent Street crash still unidentified

Police are still trying to identify the female pillion rider who was involved in an accident in the vicinity of Regent and Wellington Streets on Friday night.
The woman, who is of East Indian ancestry, has not regained consciousness and hospital sources continue to list her condition as critical.
According to reports, the woman was being towed on a motorcycle by Adrian Henry, 34, of 141 South Sophia at around 21:20 hrs on Friday when they were involved in a collision with a car, PKK 2000.
She sustained multiple injuries to the head and other parts of the body, while Henry’s left leg was badly crushed. He also sustained injuries to his right eye.
Henry, who has been admitted to the GPHC’s Male Surgical Ward, told Kaieteur News yesterday that he does not remember anything about the accident.
Kaieteur News was told that Henry also alleged that he did not know the woman, and that he picked her up in the vicinity of the High Court shortly before the accident.
Meanwhile, hospital sources said that they are attempting to identify a male accident victim who has been in the GPHC’s High Dependency Unit for almost a month.
He is believed to have been among several passengers who were injured in mid-July after a bus they were traveling in crashed near Bagotstown, East Bank Demerara.
