Fortune favours the brave that must be the saying as Vryman’s Erven Secondary School (VESS) and Tutorial Academy Secondary School (TASS) recorded impressive wins over their more established opponents New Amsterdam Multilateral Secondary (NAMS) and Berbice High School (BHS) respectively to advance to the final of the Inaugural New Amsterdam Primary Secondary School Football Foundation (NAPPS) championship.
VESS collared NAMS 4-1 with the Garfield Millington blasting home all four goals. Antonio Bekham scored for the losers.
TASS was equally as impressive as the made light work of a much vaunted BHS line up 4-2. On target for TASS were Cleroy Joseph with a double while there was one each for Delroy Ferdinand and Renaldo August. Responding for the losers were Ron Caesar and Graham Thomas.
Three matches are slated for today, in the first encounter CSS will match skills with Rosignol Secondary for 5th place while the third place will be decided when BHS and NAMS come up against each other. The final between the two giant Killers VESS and TASS will follow immediately after.
A number of incentives and other memorabilia are up for grabs including trophies, balls, uniforms, cones nets and other football equipment. Medals and books will also be part of the impressive packages that will be handed over the winners and outstanding individual players’ compliments of the NAPPS football foundation of USA and Guyana.
Kick off time is 09:30 hrs.
The organization hosted an awards and presentation ceremony last evening at the New Amsterdam Town Hall where several persons were rewarded.
