The junior national table tennis team is scheduled to depart this morning to participate in the Pre-Cadet Caribbean Championships which runs from August 16-22 in Barbados.
Yesterday the team was presented with track suits compliments of BrainStreet Learning Group of Albert Street yesterday, at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Chief Executive Officer of the Group Lance Hinds in brief comments said that entity which offers on-line education as well as does Software Development and IT consulting has been integrally attached to the table tennis fraternity and the gesture is merely a continuation of support to the junior team.
“We were approached by some parents in the past and we had made a donation towards one of the tour so this is just another example of our support for the junior team,” Hinds commented.
The CEO added that most likely they will continue the relationship with the team in the future.
Among the other sponsors to come forward and offer their support were Nigel’s Supermarket, Roy Mookram, Medicine Chest and parents.
The squad to travel are: (Boys 10 and under)- Elishaba Johnson, Kyle Edghill and Rajiv Muneshwar; (Girls) – Priscilla Greaves and Jamaali Homer; (Boys 13 and under)- Jamal Duff, Sunil Logan, Joseph Johnson and Stefan Corlette and (Girls) – Chelsea Edghill, Olivia Weekes and Akeila Wiltshire.
The two coaches are Colin France and Linden Johnson, while Deidre Edghill will serve as Manager / Chaperone.
