The youthful Carib Boys of beverage giant Ansa McAl proved to be worthy competitors when they gave Floodlights XI a scare last Friday night at Bourda where over 440 runs were scored in a 25 overs per innings softball match.
Carib boys batting first made a good total of 220 runs for 9 wickets with captain Shawn McKay top scoring with 67, Looknan Mohammed 47 and Troy Cadogan 27. Rahaman Khan, Petamber Maharaj and Armogan Gopaul took 3 wickets each bowling for Floodlights XI.
When Floodlights XI batted they reach 225 for 8 in the 24th over with man-of-the-match Armogan Gopaul making 48 runs and Mark Harold 70 not out and together with Steve Narine 36 not out took their team to victory. Looknan Mohammed was Carib Boys best bowler with 3 for 40 off 5 overs.
