A city resident yesterday walked out of the Georgetown Public Hospital despite a gaping hole in his forehead.
The man reportedly refused to be treated at the hospital, where he was rushed by ranks of the Guyana Police Force.
The man, who was only identified as Ralph, was picked up by policemen near the KFC Stabroek outlet in a semi conscious state and taken to the hospital.
He did not tell the ranks or hospital official how he sustained the wound.
Kaieteur News understands that when doctors tried to examine the wound with a view to operating on it, the man, who was clad only in a pair of trousers and vest, became hysterical and walked out of the Accident and Emergency Unit and never returned.
Hospital sources said that the man’s wound is consistent with someone hurling a sharp object at him.
