Yesterday, just about 15:30 hrs Chavez Fernando, 18, an Albouys Street, Albouystown teen, happened upon a more than six-foot long anaconda as it slithered in his yard.
The snake had just swallowed a rat.
But as opposed to screaming and running in the opposite direction, the youth sneaked up on the reptile and grabbed it by the head.
He related, “When I snatch he by he head, he start wrapping around me hand and squeezing it tight.”
The boy then raised an alarm and three of his friends came to his aid, pulling the reptile by its tail off of their friend’s arm.
They then put the reptile into a bag and headed to a wildlife company to sell the catch but disappointment was the order of the day.
“Them tell we come back tomorrow, so we ain’t get no money, but we going back tomorrow (today).
He said he was not the least bit afraid of the reptile and noted that a much bigger one was caught in his yard last year.
